Pantami orders cancellation of NIN retrieval prices throughout all networks

Minister of Communications, Dr. Isa Ibrahim Pantami

Minister of Communications and Digital Economic system, Isa Pantami has directed the Nigerian Communications Fee (NCC) and the Nationwide Identification Administration Fee (NIMC) to take away the N20 price imposed on subscribers for NIN retrieval requests.

Pantami mentioned this in a press release signed by his spokesperson, Mrs Uwa Suleiman, on Friday in Abuja.

The Minister’s directive which takes speedy impact, was an intervention geared toward making the method simpler and inexpensive.

He mentioned that the Govt Vice-Chairman of NCC and the Director Normal of NIMC, knowledgeable him in a letter conveying the implementation of the directive, that the related authorities had met and negotiated a waiver with the Cell Community Operators in that regard.

“By this waiver, all Nigerians, subscribers and candidates can entry the service utilizing the *346# code for his or her NIN retrieval at no cost in the course of the NIN/SIM Card integration train,” he mentioned.

The Federal Authorities had earlier directed that Nationwide Identification Numbers (NIN) be built-in with Subscriber Identification Modules for safety functions.

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has formally accredited the appointment of Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo because the Performing Director-Normal of the Nationwide Directorate of Employment, NDE.

This was contained in a letter to the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, dated Monday 18, 2021.

An announcement issued by the Senior Particular Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu stated, “President Muhammadu Buhari has formally conveyed to the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN,  his approval of the nomination of Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo because the Performing Director-Normal of the Nationwide Directorate of Employment pending the appointment of a substantive Director-Normal for the Company.”

The assertion recalled that final President Buhari had final month relieved the previous DG of the company of the appointment and directed the Minister to appoint an Performing DG to superintend over the Company pending the appointment of a substantive DG.

With the excessive charge of insecurity within the state, the governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, Monday ordered herdsmen to vacate the state’s Forest Reserves inside seven days.

Akeredolu gave the order in a sequence of tweets, prohibiting the motion of cattle’s throughout the metropolis and highways.

His phrases: “These unlucky incidents are traceable to the actions of some unhealthy components masquerading as herdsmen.

“These felons have turned our forest reserves into hideouts for protecting victims of kidnapping, negotiating for ransom and finishing up different felony actions.

“Because the Chief Regulation and Safety Officer of the State, it’s my constitutional obligation to do every part lawful to guard the lives and property of all residents of the State. In mild of the foregoing, the next orders are hereby issued:

“1. All Forest Reserves within the State are to be vacated by herdsmen throughout the subsequent 7 days with impact from at present, Monday 18th January, 2021.

“2. Night time-grazing is banned with instant impact as a result of most farm destruction takes place at evening.

“3. Motion of cattle inside cities and highways is prohibited.

“4. Beneath-aged grazing of cattle is outlawed.

“Our decision to ensure security of lives and property throughout the State shall stay utmost as safety businesses have been directed to implement the ban.

“In its standard magnanimity, our administration will give a grace interval of seven days for individuals who want to keep on with their cattle-rearing enterprise to register with acceptable authorities.”
