Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, a renowned Islamic scholar and a leading figure in the Tijaniyya sect, has advised the Nigerian government to end the unrest in the country.

“The protesters should stop it, because if the situation continues like this, everything will be ruined and the despised peace will be lost,” he said.

He added: “We urge the government to respect the rights of the people. We hope that there will be people who will tell the truth. It should not be allowed to go on like this. It will not lead to violence.”
