The Bauchi State Government has directed that all Imams and Muslim Faithful to observe Eid prayers in their respective Jumma’at mosques and Eid praying grounds nearest to their houses in order to ease congestion.

In a statement issued to Journalists by the Senior Special Media Assistant on Media to Governor Bala Mohammed, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado on Friday.

The directives was in tandem with the guidelines pronounced by the federal government and his imminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar.

According to the statement, Imams are equally guided to ensure that the conduct of sermons and Eid prayers are shortened and movements of people from villages to city center are banned.

“Traditional horse riding is also suspended and citizens must ensure that protective protocols of social and physical distancing, wearing of face masks and hand washing are strictly adhered to, during the Eid prayers”, the statement read in part.
