The Chief singer of Kano state emirate resigns

“I write to inform you of my decision to voluntarily resign my appointment as Sarkin Wakar San Kano with effect from March 13th, 2020.

Following the dethronement of  Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Sarkin Waka (Chief Singer) of Kano emirate, Alhaji Naziru M. Ahmad, has resigned his appointment. Ahmad was turbaned in 2018 as the Sarkin Waka to the recently dethroned Emir of Kano.

This was revealed in a leaked letter of his resignation sent to the Secretary of the Kano emirate council. Ahmad, in the letter, said:

“I write to inform you of my decision to voluntarily resign my appointment as Sarkin Wakar San Kano with effect from March 13th, 2020.

This is to humbly appreciate my appointment and express my loyalty to not only the council, but the state as well.”

He expressed gratitude for the said appointment and opportunity to served with the Emirate council while describing the appointment as “rewarding experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

Ahmad confirmed the leaked letter via his verified instagram handle Wednesday saying “Alhamdulillah. Wannan da gaskene jama’a ( Glory to Allah, this is true people)”.

Recalled that Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi ll, was dethroned over alleged disrespect to the office of the governor and other government agencies.
