“Education is a human right, a powerful driver of development and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty and improving health, gender equality, peace, and stability. It delivers large, consistent returns in terms of income and is the most important factor to ensure equality of opportunities. For individuals, education promotes employment, earnings, health, and poverty reduction.

Globally, there is a 9% increase in hourly earnings for one extra year of schooling. For societies, it drives long-term economic growth, spurs innovation, strengthens institutions, and fosters social cohesion. Indeed, making smart and effective investments in people’s education is critical for developing the human capital that will end extreme poverty.”

Unfortunately, the failure in educational standard is a defendable building block to failure in the development of a society.

Accordingly, “the newly assembled data, 53% of all children in low and middle-income countries cannot read and understand a short story by the time they are finishing primary school.” Not only that, in a country like Nigeria mostly the northern part, students often finished secondary school not having the ability to read not to talk of constructing a readable sentence. Thus, this high rate of “learning poverty” the share of children who by finishing secondary schools are not able to read nor write is one of the disturbing issue on ground.

However, in a state like Bauchi, the statistics of the WAEC ranking have shown that the state is one of the first ten state in Nigeria with this issue. This is to say, the state is one of those left far behind in term of education.

Consequently, the leading administration in view to that have sworn to promote the educational standard by bring on table a capable tested persona to leading the sector in the ongoing government.

Nonetheless, no matter how capable one maybe, he/she must have a short come to fulfill being human, but agreed or not this gentleman is doing more than enough in his responsibilities.

Notwithstanding, on assuming office, the mayor, with the state in mind and a bedeviling nightmare of the state educational backwards have remained foresight and straight forward going individual in managing his ministry. I most confess, that Dr. Aliyu U. Tilde have did and is still doing extremely great in reviving the elementary sector of the state education.

Moreover, on the trending issue on ground for the state decision on not to sponsor unqualified candidates for the 2020 WAEC following the set mock examination guide is also a great move towards seeing the state to the dreamland. This is so because, it will enhance in the growing students the zeal to work hard developing the little knowledge given to them by their teachers. And also, it will wake-up the teachers from their long sleep in order to fight for being remark as the school with the highest government SSCE sponsorship at every year-end.

But, it was so unfortunate for the government who supposed to have get large number of supporters on this giant move are now been criticized by many.
Well, this is what we call freedom the great ancestral father to politics. Perhaps we all have the freedom to comment and this is why various ideas will emerge when things like this happened.

To me, what confused me is finding out what the protestants are trying to bring on table. Are they protesting to the government to continue paying for what will yield nothing but the usual huge failure when the result is out? Or Are they just protesting to show their disbelief and lack of faith to the leading administration.

For those with the former must be heartless and lack interest in the development of our state and country at large to protest for what will never favor both the students and the masses and those with later are simply there to identify them selves, so to them I assured them the usual admiration and happy stay by the roadside.

Finally, with much respect I must applaud the ruling Bauchi State Government for its selflessness on appointing a most deserved candidate to the state ministry of education. And I also pray that this move will ripe out its motif in a very near future.
