Kebbi state government has set up a committee of two ministries that will be educating and enlightening Fulani communities on the importance of peaceful coexistence.

The Ministries saddle with that responsibility are local government and chieftaincy affairs and that of animal husbandry as well as state association of cattle rearers.

The term of reference of the two committees is to enlighten Fulani on the need live peacefully with farmers and obey orders the constituted authorities.

The committee will be headed by commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Hon Hassan Muhammad Shallah Gwandu.

Speaking during a meeting with traditional rulers and Fulani community leaders held on Thursday at Bachaka village of Arewa Local Government, the chairman of the committe urged them to be good ambassadors of peace.

He explained that they were at the area for an interactive session with members of Fulani community in order to provide a peaceful atmosphere and added that kebbi state government under the leadership of Sen Atiku Bagudu is ready to give them the necessary assistance.

Meanwhile the commissioner animal husbandry was represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Hajiya Fatima Sani Udu, expressed readiness of kebbi state government to assist the cattle rearers by providing them RUGGA to stay home calmly.

Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman Arewa local government area Hon Garba Muhammad Yeldu expressed appreciations to the committee and describe the visit to the area as timely.
