The Students Union Government, SUG Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi has Tuesday meet with management of the institution over the proposed strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The leadership of SUG agreed with management to adjust the examination timetable so that ASUU strike would not affect the students academic pursuit.
In a statement signed by the Secretary General of the students apex body, Nazifi Sulaiman and made available to our Campus Correspondent.
He said ” As part of it’s commitment, passion and determination to serve and protect the interest of the students so as not to truncate their examination, the leadership of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) had an emergency meet with the University Management today at Council Chamber regarding the ongoing examination and the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU)” .
He said the ongoing semester examination would be concluded before Monday February, 3rd.
” The two parties have reached the resolution that all examinations should be finished before Monday 3rd February 2020.
Therefore, the alteration in the Examination Timetable should effect from Wednesday 29th to Saturday 1st February 2020”.
The statement further called on the university to simplify the remaining examination so as to avert massive failure.
” We appeals the University Management to consider simplicity so as not to experience a massive failure in the remaining examinations. While wishing students success in the gleaned examinations, we urge them to read hard, don’t be despair, be composed and put more grease to your effort; let the sky your limit” .
