Most leaders of contemporary time are characterised by pomposity, arrogance and superiority complex which makes them far from their people.
Ideally, leaders particularly traditional rulers are expected to be kind, generous and easily accessible by their people as the they serve as intermediaries between the masses and the government. This makes the traditional rulers paramount and pillars of development in their societies.
Today the calibre of people we have as leaders (both the traditional and the political) are detaching themselves from their people on the basis that they are occupying a higher strata and thus no longer require any mutual relation and understanding with the common man.
Interestingly and fortunately for the people of Karaye Emirate, we are blessed with a unique leader (His Royal Highness, the Emir of Karaye Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II), a traditional ruler with high sense of decorum, simplicity, Islamic orientation and true love for his people.
This can be attested by the fact that he always welcomes people and grant them audience to express their opinions and complaints so that their legitimate needs could be forwarded to the appropriate authority.
Another unique quality of His Highness the Emir of Karaye is his ability to embrace people irrespective of social, economic and political affiliation.
He has been credited and honoured for been an advocate of peace, unity, politeness and diplomatic to all and sundry.
In view of the above qualities found in our great leader the Emir of Karaye, I humbly wish to congratulate the people of Karaye Emirate for this wonderful blessing that have been the dream of every society.
