Prior to the 2019 general election, PRP Adamawa state chapter is the only political party that carried out the rallies round and campaign across all the wards of our various constituencies without security guards escorting our team.
Even though, we were asked by the Adamawa state security council and the head of security Chiefs to submit our security request to them in order to be provided with the security escorts. Imagine, we said no to them because we in the PRP don’t believe in campaign servitude and rally distrust rather we strongly believe in campaign by sacrifice and rally by example. That’s why throughout we have conducted our political affairs such as campaigns and rallies in Adamawa state without security apparatuses attached to us.
For us, it is unfortunate or an act of cowardice for a political party or political candidates to build a political relationships with the electorates or grassroots based on campaig servitude and rally distrust etc, etc; etc.
Moreover, it is disgraceful and unwise for any political party that heavily depend on security services while campaigning and rally round around human beings or mobilizing for. Because our security apparatuses in “Court” were created to provide a security services to the citizens not politicians that even with votes cast or without votes cast can bribe the INEC officials to rigged elections or to connive with the corrupt security officers to deceive the grassroots or to Robb the candidates from left-wing political parties.
Again, I believe that with the presences of PRPISTS like Bobby Ibbi George (Ex-Numan PRP Candidate Adamawa State House of Assembly), Philip. W. Jerimon (Ex-Demsa PRP Candidate Adamawa State House of Assembly), and Myself (Ex-Demsa/Numan-Lamurde PRP House of Reps Candidate Adamawa State), political manipulations such as campaign servitude and rally distrust will come a things of the past in Adamawa state and Nigeria in general.
I know that people while reading this Write up will be curious to note the reason behind why our campaigns and our rallies were conducted in Adamawa State without tight Security escorts attached to us.
Therefore, the reason can be seen in the words of Mal. Aminu Kano: “Anyone who wants to be a leader must be the servant, not the boss, of those he wants to serve”.
Comrade Musa Ali Maishanu: Ex-Demsa/Numan/Lamurde PRP House of Reps Candidate Adamawa State and North East Regional Coordinator of Global Pan-Africanism Network (Nigeria) Chapter.
