The Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, NYP Rt. Hon Mubarak Mijiyawa has felicitated with Christians as world celebrates Christmas today.
In his Christmas message made available to Newsmen in Gombe he said ” My message today is short and precise! Show this to your Imams and Pastors; The events of Christmas and Sallah are such events that every Christian and Muslim (faithful or not) come together for congregational prayers”.
He called on clerics and preachers to pray for peace and unity of the country.
” I therefore urge our preachers to please use this opportunity to preach and lay emphasis on oneness, unity and harmony amongst the two major religions”.
Mijiyawa also called on Nigerians to shown religious bigotry and tolerate each other.
” Nigerians, let us this time around change the narrative that ‘religion is always our division line’. From an Igbo man that sells spare parts in the North, to the Hausa man that sells cattle in the South up to the Yoruba Mason in the East. Together we can make our country greater”.
