Bauchi State Government has inaugurated the Joint Public Service Negotiation Council for the implementation of minimum wage in the state.
In a statement signed by Muktar Gidado, Senior Special Assistant on Media to Bauchi State Governor on Monday he said the committee was inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government.
“The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mohammed Sabi’u Baba who inaugurated the Council, said they are expected submit their report on the 27 of this month”.
Mohammed Sabi’u Baba enumerated some of the terms of reference of the council to include recommending to the state government on moderlities of ensuring effective implementation of the minimum wage.
He said with their recommendations, the state government will ensure commencement of the full implementation of the new minimum wage in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government therefore called on members of the council to justify the confidence reposed in them by doing justice in the discharge of their assigned responsibilities.
The Council with the State Head of Service, Alhaji Ahmed Ma’aji as chairman, has 41 members comprising government and labour officials.
