Ministry of Women Affairs organises training on Genital Mutilation in Kano

Utai added that no fewer than 100 attended the training.

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in collobration with Adolescent Health Information Projects (AHIP) has on Saturday organised one day training in Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano State on the consequences and Community involvement for eradication of female genital mutilation .

Speaking during the training the Mustapha Iliyasu Utai said at the end of the training the participants will be equip with required knowledge on the consequences of genital mutilation.

He thanked the ministry for organising the program in the area stressing that the training will go along in creating awareness within the localities.

Utai added that no fewer than 100 attended the training.

” We thank Almighty Allah, over 100 people within and across Sumaila Local Government Area benefitted from the campaign”.

” It’s a privilege for me to coordinate the entire program, we than Almighty Allah. It was successful and a hitch free process from the beginning up to the end”.

Shortly after the training partcipants stage a peaceful walk and campaign against the act carrying many flacards with different inscriptions such as ” Say No to Genital Mutilation” among others.
