The Nigerian Army in a bid to continue to win the hearts and minds of the civil populace has again offered their support in reconstructing the collapsed Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) bridge, that earlier killed three students in Bauchi state.
Dr Andee Iheme, Director Public Relations of ATBU said the Nigerian Army is fulfilling her promise of building a standard bridge across the stream in which three students drowned and several others injured.
The Institution said they are appreciating the Nigerian Army for being true to their promise.
It will be recalled that on August 5, 2019, a pedestrian bridge collapsed at ATBU and three students lost their lives, while many got injured. The Governing Council of the University later constituted a seven-man committee to investigate the cause of the bridge collapse that killed three students and injured several others.
SECURITY AFFAIRS gathered that the metal bridge linking the student hostel and the lecture halls collapsed on Monday night around 11:45am August 5 2019 following a heavy downpour in the state.
Students and Lecturers of ATBU have continued to pour accolades on the country’s Army for the kind gesture.
