Dattuwa Kumo appeals for synergy between executive and legislative arm

The Speaker Gombe State House of Assembly Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim Kurba has said cooperation, mutual respect and understanding between Arms of Government are prerequisites to good and successful democratic governance.

He stated this while welcoming the newly appointed Special Adviser to the State Governor on Assembly Matters Alhaji Dattuwa  Ali Kumo who was in the House to Assume duty.

The Speaker acknowledged the existing good working relationship between the Legislature and the Executive to which he attributed the unprecedented successes recorded by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in one hundred days of his administration in the State.

He congratulated the newly appointed Special Adviser whom he described as an experienced Legislator and astute politician that will use his experience to further smoothen the existing cordial working relationship between the State Legislature and the Executive.

While welcoming him to the House, the Speaker said as a former legislator the Special Adviser is aware of the persistent challenges bedeviling the House which include inadequate Office accommodation, lack of utility vehicles as well as inadequate and obsolete working equipment among others and called on him to interface in overcoming the challenges.

Introducing the Special Adviser earlier, the House Leader Builder Markus Samuel said the House is lucky to have Alhaji Dattuwa Ali Kumo (Sarkin Tafarkin Akko) as Special Adviser adding that apart from effectively liaising between the two Arms of Government, legislators will also tap from his vast of legislative experience.

Speaking earlier, the Special Adviser on Assembly Matters Alhaji Dattuwa Ali Kumo expressed gratitude to the Speaker, Members and management staff of the House for giving him a warm reception.

He said as a former member of the State House of Assembly he has special passion to the Legislature and assured that he will interface between the House and the Executive to ensure that there is also mutual benefit in addition to the existing mutual respect.

Kumo therefore appealed to the legislators to speedily treat any matter from the Executive that needs legislative blessing and pledged to do his best in drawing the attention of the Executive to the challenges facing the State Legislature with a view to solving them.
