ANNS urges Youths to engage in Modern Farming Technics

Youths in Northern Nigeria have been advised to embraced modern agricultural technics while engaging in farming activities.

The Vice President of Association of Northern Nigeria Students (ANNS), Sani Adamu made this while addressing partcipants at a seminar tagged “Impact of Agriculture to Northern Nigerian Students” with the theme “Productive Employment Generation through the Implementation of Agricultural Entrepreneurship in Northern Nigeria.” held at Multipurpose Hall, Bauchi on Saturday.

He said ” The world goes green as they say and surely Northern Nigerian Students will not be left behind. We shall strive to match up the new technology because no matter how the world was revolutionized, man always requires to eat”.

Adamu further said ” My fellow Nigerian Students, this is an opportunity to learn about how technology is transforming the agricultural sector, what opportunities exist for young entrepreneurs and what you can do to support agriculture locally.
The seminar came at the right time when the world was shifted to Agripreneurship as the most reliable source of income and of course the robust factor responsible for improving and boosting the socioeconomics development of our people”.

He described agriculture as ”the art and science of cultivating soil, growing crops, raising livestock, processing products, and getting them to market, it is much more than just farming. It’s business. It’s science. It’s engineering. It’s energy. It’s entrepreneurship. It’s information. It’s technology”.

He called on goverment at all level to prioritize the sector for better performance, maintaining that through agriculture youhs unemployment can be reduce.

”At this juncture, I will like to urge all the relevant stakeholders especially the Government at all levels to give higher priority to Agriculture.

Today, agriculture is expensive that is beyond the capacity of the average person. Government should provide the capitals, equipments and necessary machineries to the farmers.

This will drastically reduce the rate of unemployment among  our contemporary youths”.
