Campus Journalists- Apply for the Campus Investigative Story Challenge


The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) and Youths Digest, hereby call for entries from students in various Nigerian tertiary institutions for the maiden “Campus Investigative Story Challenge.” Entries will be received between Thursday, 12th September, and (up till) 11:59 pm of Thursday, 3rd October 2019.

Entries to be submitted must meet the following requirements:

–Entries must be from an undergraduate student of any tertiary institution in Nigeria. (This will be supported by proof if requested).

–Entries should be a story that reflects misappropriation of funds, gross negligence of duty, nepotism, bribery, corruption, and any act deemed inappropriate in the existing laws by public officials or government employees.

–A story to be submitted as an entry must be a report/story revolving around either Education, Health or Sports sector.

–A story can be targeted at institutions and public officials either at the Federal, State or Local Government level.

–Entries must be backed by proof of originality.

–The proof can be in the form of a budget documents, media reports, and other vital documents from credible and verifiable bodies.

–Applicants are free to send in an entry (story) on issues, events or activities that happened between 1999 and date.

–Entries must be between 500 to 2500 words.

–With the subject: “Campus Investigative Story Challenge.” We passionately appeal to prospective applicants to avoid plagiarism in the course of writing their stories.

The over-all winner of the contest will be rewarded with the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000). Also, the winner will be invited to a special award presentation event in Abuja, before the end of the year to share his/her experience. CISLAC will cover the travel and accommodation cost if the winner is from outside Abuja
